C 1,646 peopleEmployees' Google Workspace accounts were illegally logged into from late July 2026, and the email addresses and names of 1,646 people, including employees and business partners, may have leaked. It came to light in early August through a notice from Google. On the same day Nikkei also announced that another employee's Microsoft 365 account was hit by a cyberattack: on September 30, about 9,000 spoofed emails leading to malicious sites were sent to colleagues and news sources, and the recipients' email addresses and names and the content of some emails appear to have leaked (the number of people is under investigation).
